And so here I sit, basking in the glory of beginning ;).
Welcome to Ramble & Root! This is a project that has been in the works for well over a year and could very well have gone another year with all the planning and ideas that I have. But today I saw the above quote by Eugene Ware and it struck me that I could plan my life away... So I decided, today is the day I dare. Even if I am not sure where this is going exactly, what I'm doing for my next post, etc. It was time to take the first step. So here I am. And perhaps here you are. Thank you for reading =)
My name is Katie, I am a photographer and an artist from California, I have lived in the northern part of the state all of my life (so I say 'hella' ... apparently a lot). I have a passion for road trips and travel but I am also a homebody. I love my vegetable garden and am obsessed with getting my house 'just right'. I love to thrift shop and antique flea; if it's new, I am generally not interested (with the exception of Ikea & HomeGoods). I often explore local farms, ranches and open spaces for inspiration. I love hand lettering and drawing. I feel a deep need to be creative in most aspects of my life. That is what this blog is about. A journal of sorts to share my creative ideas, a place to stretch and work my artistic muscles. I read many blogs that inspire me, my hope is to pay some inspiration forward.
This site is currently a work in progress. The About page explains more about Ramble & Root. I have listed some (but not all) of my favorite blogs under Favorite Reads. In the future part of this site will become a portfolio site for my photography and art. But for the moment, this site is just one blog post. I hope you'll check back in from time to time, to keep me on my toes. But for now, I dared and I basked... Welcome to the beginning!
